Some things can’t be replaced once they’re gone. A tree that has stood for generations. A landscape shaped by time. A place where families gather, children explore, and memories take root.

Across Bonaire, nature carries the stories of the people who came before us. And the way we care for it today helps shape what we leave behind for those who come next.

Through We’re part of nature, we highlight the places, landscapes, and natural treasures that connect generations. The things that continue to grow, continue to matter, and continue to make Bonaire feel like home.

What This Campaign Is About

Caring begins with recognizing what has value. The green shoots that appear after rain. Trees that provide shade year after year. Water that supports life across the island. The coastline, the kunuku, old island homes, rugged rock formations, and familiar landscapes that help tell Bonaire’s story. These places are part of daily life. They are part of childhood memories, family traditions, and the experiences that connect people to the island.

This campaign explores what it means to pass something on. Healthy nature does not happen overnight. Trees need time to grow. Landscapes need time to recover. The choices people make today influence what future generations will experience tomorrow.

When we care for the places that matter, we help ensure that Bonaire remains a place where nature, culture, and community continue to thrive.

Where You'll See the Campaign

From April through June, campaign visuals appear across Bonaire in newspapers, on digital billboards, indoor screens, online banners, and social media. Each image tells part of the story.

Young vegetation growing at Tera Barra. The water and surrounding landscape of Fontein. The layered rock formations along Queen’s Highway. Together, these scenes show how nature, time, and care shape Bonaire’s story. They remind us that every generation inherits something valuable and has the opportunity to pass it forward.

Through My Eyes

What we pass on often starts with the way we see the world around us. That idea inspired Through My Eyes, a photo series that explores how different generations experience Bonaire’s natural landscapes.

The series focuses on quiet, authentic moments. Nature leads the story. A parent and child looking out across the sea. Hands planting a young tree. An old wayaká standing strong after decades of growth. Flamingos observed from a respectful distance. A walk through the landscape that reveals how appreciation for nature is shared over time.

Together, the images show that caring for Bonaire begins close to home. In the way we experience the island. In the way we treat places that matter. And in the example we set for the generations that follow.

When I Grow Up

The future takes center stage in the video series When I Grow Up. In three short videos, children share how they hope to find Bonaire in the years ahead.

At Tera Barra, they talk about everything that is still growing. At Fontein, they reflect on the places they hope will still feel alive, familiar, and cared for. Along Queen’s Highway, they imagine a future where Bonaire still feels like Bonaire.

Together with Through My Eyes, these stories bring the campaign message to life: The choices we make today become part of the Bonaire we pass on tomorrow.
