New sign keeps community informed on progress and timeline

The renovation of the fishermen’s pier at Playa Pabou is now officially underway. A newly installed on-site information sign clearly outlines what work is taking place, why it matters, and what the timeline looks like. Visitors and residents can see at a glance what to expect.

Key steps have already been completed. The contract has been signed, materials have been ordered, and construction has begun. With the information sign in place, the Public Entity of Bonaire (OLB) is keeping the community informed as the project moves forward.

The fishermen’s pier is used every day. For local fishermen, it is their workplace and a source of income. It is also a place that holds meaning for the island, reflecting Bonaire’s culture and the people who live and work here. Island Executive Clark Abraham said: “We are pleased to move forward with this project for our fishermen and the local community. They deserve a safe and reliable place to do their work.”

The renovation is focused on restoring the pier so it can serve the community for years to come. OLB will continue to share updates as the project progresses.
